Ephemera
Paper, photographs, and schoolroom leavings that were never meant to last this long. Albums, cabinet cards, a souvenir map, a gift book inscribed to someone in a hand that has gone hard to read. Most of it is one of a kind, and all of it is described exactly as found.
Photographs are dated from the format first. A cabinet card, a carte de visite and a tintype each belong to their own run of years, and the photographer's imprint on the mount can narrow it further through city directories.
Paper is dated from the printing, the watermark when there is one, and whatever is written on it.
Ships flat or in a rigid mailer, anywhere in the United States, with the card.
Nothing catalogued here yet.
This era is open and waiting. Pieces land here as they are catalogued, and that takes as long as it takes.
